One can only be horrified at this case which I suspect will reveal nothing new. Especially the appallingly poor quality of management and leadership we often see at the top of many, not all, organisations. The evidence that the NHS, police service, Home Office, BBC, Post Office, et al still have senior managers seemingly more concerned about keeping the lid on bad news, rather than serving and protecting the people they are supposed to is deeply concerning. But like selects like and it would be naive to think much will change. The irony is that were they to act their reputation and trust would, far from damaged, be elevated. One also has to look at our political leaders and the example they often do not set. I remain sceptical they really want change because the system, they believe, suits their objectives. They, and we, are not all bad people. It is the darker, fallible, fearful side of our nature, and our inability to see through the fog, that causes so many problems. Nothing new under the sun!
